Meetings are open to the public. If there is any confidential business to be discussed the public's exclusion would be by resolution which would give reasons for the exclusion. There is an item on the Agenda specifically for public participation. This is an opportunity for members of the public to raise concerns or make any issues known to the council which you would like them to discuss. Anything raised at this point may need to be a future agenda item if it is something that cannot be answered straight away. Only matters on the agenda can be properly discussed and any resolutions made as per our Standing Orders. Once the public partcipation part of the agenda is concluded, the council return to the agenda items and members of the public are welcome to stay but may not speak or take part unless the chairman specifically invites that member of the public to speak to help with the councils debate to help enhance informed decision making.
